Lumē effectively blocks bacteria from digesting fluids on our skin—like sweat, semen, blood, and urine—so they can't produce odor. Rather than neutralizing or covering up odor after it forms like other deodorants, Lumē is a pre-odorant that blocks odor from happening in the first place.

When you have a chronic skin condition like HS, you don’t want to experiment with ineffective deodorants and ingredients that are well-known irritants.
Aluminum salts in antiperspirants are meant to plug sweat pores and reduce sweat. The last thing you want to do when you have HS is intentionally clog pores! Aluminum is actually known to increase the colony count of bacteria that is responsible for odor in the first place. Lumē is aluminum free and doesn’t clog pores.
Baking soda is in many natural deodorants and can cause irritation and rashes! Our skin’s optimal pH is slight acidic (4.5 - 6.5), and baking soda is very basic (9). Lumē is baking soda free and effectively controls odors without disturbing your skin’s natural balance.
Artificial fragrances can be a major irritant for skin, so you don’t want to take any chances when you have a skin condition like HS.
